San Andreas

San Andreas (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + UltraViolet)

San Andreas is a pulse pounding, heart pumping film from the first opening scenes until the end. It stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Ray a helicopter rescue pilot with the L.A. fire dept. He is involved in a divorce with his wife Emma who he still cherishes dearly and his college age daughter Blake.   When he comes to visit his daughter before she goes to college he discovers his wife’s new boyfriend is moving in with her.  He’s attending  a meeting in San Francisco near where Blake is going to college and said he’ll go with her.

Meanwhile seismologist Lawrence played by Paul Giamatti sees a huge earthquake is about to erupt ,so big that it will be felt on the East coast. After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, Ray a search and rescue helicopter pilot and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter.

Blake gets trapped in the back seat of the limo car they are riding in and her future stepfather goes to find help never to return. Two brothers from England visiting hear about a woman trapped in the parking garage. They hear Blake’s cries for help and together they free her.

What follows is a touch and go scene after scene with Blake’s parents trying to find her and she and her two rescuers trying to find them amongst all the rubble and shaking.

The special effects are astounding as San Francisco crumbles before your very eyes. Dwayne Johnson is terrific as he rescues people from the quake and keeps his cool whether flying a helicopter, flying a plane an elderly couple own and give to him as they flee the scene in their car or commandeering a speedboat right into a Tsunami.

Critics have said the co-stars weren’t that good, but I thought newcomer Alexandra Daddario as Blake was sensational as she suffers injury and near drowning and regains her strength to help the two English brothers who saved her. I also thought Carla Guigino as Ray’s wife Emma was very good and Paul Giamatti as the seismologist was very convincing too.

If they had ads like they did in the fifties in newspapers and posters it would read something like this:

See San Francisco crumble before your very eyes.

See the Golden Gate Bridge crumble into the sea.

See the famous Hollywood sign fall.

How I Changed From a Liberal to Conservative (And Glad I Did!!!)

From 1966-1976  I strayed from my republican family upbringing and while in college and  from 1966 to 1976 I was a young skull full of mush as Rush Limbaugh would say and fell into the clutches of liberalism. I fell for the good time, rock ‘n’ roll, plastic banana, peace, love,  harmony, Kumbaya movement known as the 60’s. Needless to say I got into a lot of arguments with my parents who I loved dearly and regret and feel guilty about it to this day especially my dad who was a WW11 vet who lost  his twin  brother in France during the war. I was glad I was able to a make amends with him before he passed away.

By the mid 70’s when I was working in the real word I woke up and discovered liberalism is this vast movement that is a mental disorder with a cult like mentality. They lure you in with good intentions, lots of hand wringing emotion, fashion  music, movies,(this does not mean all music or movies, but  that’s what they use to brainwash you) slogans, sound bites, anti-war, anti-religion and anti-family rhetoric to get you dependant on government for everything in your life. In the 60’s   liberals  said “power to the people” and “big government out of our lives.” Today it’s conservatives who are saying power to the people and opting for smaller government except for the RINOS  (Republicans In Name Only) in congress. People like Bill and Hillary Clinton and Obama want as much government in your life as possible to keep you dependant on them so they and their party  remain in power. Nancy Pelosi recently said, “Being unemployed is  good because now you can write that book you always wanted to or paint that portrait while having the government take care of you thru our healthcare plan.” That’s communism and socialism which is what Obamacare is all about.

Conservatives on the other hand are more stable emotionally and all about freedom and obeying the constitution of our founding fathers that kept this country going for the past 239 years.  Now Obama is shredding it calling it an outdated document to exercise his lawlessness. Conservatives believe in being the best you can be and achieving whatever you want with a hard work ethic and integrity if big government would just get out of our way. Liberals say you can’t succeed without having   government  in your life.

Liberals are always whining, complaining, protesting and are always angry, bitter and never satisfied. When they finally get what they want they always want more. Who needs that?? You can’t have a decent discussion with a liberal (lord knows I’ve tried) without them shouting you down. They can’t resort to facts and have to use emotion. Just look how they are on these shows like FOX and CNN and MSNBC. When a conservative speaks they are usually calm and interesting. When the liberals counter act they have to shout and interrupt. All you have to do is just disagree with them and they bring out the name calling.”You’re a racist, you’re a sexist, you’re a homophobe, you’re a Nazi, you’re a fascist, you  have to be silenced” and you’re in the dark ages to boot. They resort to name calling when they don’t have facts to back them up. Just disagree with a lib and that’s what you get because I’ve seen it and experienced it. In fact I’ve never seen such hatred and vitriol come from anyone as I have liberals.

Liberals are also great for using Political Correctness to get their way. Political Correctness  is the government telling  you what to say and what to think and when to say it and when to think it. Well nobody tells me what to say and what to think when to say it and when to think it.

Then there are the celebrity  hypocrits.  Bob Dylan, who I liked and still do like some of his stuff, is one.   When the concert for Bangladesh came out all the musicians volunteered their services. Dylan said he wouldn’t appear unless he got paid so they paid him. He then demanded 25 cents in royalties for every album sold when the others didn’t get anything since it was charity and he got it. People started calling him Bob (“pay me a million dollars and I’ll sing about the poor”) Dylan.

Then there is the biggest liberal icon hypocrite Michael Moore. He’s another one. Pay him a million dollars and he’ll do a movie about the poor like his recent one called “SICKO” about how great the Cuban healthcare system is.  When asked if he would get healthcare there he replied, “Only if Fox News goes first.” Moore lives in a million dollar apartment in New York City and has a million and a half dollar home in Florida. When he is out of his element the folds like the proverbial cheap camera.

When he appeared on Sean Hannity’s radio show he sounded like a little kid wimpering and saying to Sean “yeah you’re right” to everything Sean said. Sean also made a bet with Michael during the last election over something, I don’t recall what, but Sean said if he was wrong he would pay $5000 to any charity Moore picked and if Moore was wrong he had to stand in front of the white house with a sign that said “Sean Hannity was right.” Michael agreed. He lost and chickened out about being in front of the white house so Sean’s station agreed to have him stand in front of a blown up picture of the white house with the sign which he did and Sean showed it on his TV show. I haven’t heard much from Michael lately.  I guess he’s enjoying his millions he made from films he made about the down trodden and poor and people who exploit them.

So in 1976 I said to liberals   “Love you’ or leave you, I left you,” and was glad I did. 😀

Check out Austin Cuningham’s great catchy song and video tribute to the Girls at Fox News. 😀

“ I used to be a democrat, liberal no doubt.

I didn’t think conservatives knew what life’s about.

Then one day I left the FOX News channel on,

If that’s the station of the right I’ll tell the left so long.”

“My liberal days are over .Hope Bob Beckel understands.”   Regular viewers of FOX will get this. 😀

Look what’s happened to women of Fox News

Tomorrowland-Movie Review

Tomorrowland_poster.jpg (300×444)

Tomorrowland is leftist icon actor George Clooney’s attempt at shaming us all about the effects of global warming. I think George Clooney is a good actor and I liked him in his earlier films like the Mexican vampire movie “Dusk Til Dawn” and the romantic ”One Fine Day” and I heard he was good in the “Ocean’s 11” remake series, but I hate it when these actors start spouting off their political views thru movies such as this one.

The film opens with George appearing to be talking to you the audience about how things are bad all over with wars in every country, the ice caps melting, etc and how back in 1964 times were different. You hear a young girl next to him unseen to you commenting. He tells a story in flashback when he was a young boy in 1964 taking his jet pack invention to a science competition at the New York World’s fair. He gets rejected, but meets a young girl who we later find is a robot, much later, who gives him a button with the letter ‘T’ on it. The button transports him into the future which is a pristine world of futuristic roads, electronics and computerized machinery. He is transported back and the girl in the beginning interrupts him there saying, ”That’s not how It happened” and proceeds to tell her version of meeting the young girl and given the same button that transports her to the future, but as soon as she puts it do she’s back home again. The film centers around her telling of the story and meeting Clooney’s character. She is more optimistic and positive while Clooney is more negative.

This mini review explains it better than I could as I found this film pretentious and very convoluted: Never has commercialism and idealism blended so beautifully, and still so discordantly.

A $190 million summer blockbuster starring George Clooney based on an area in a Disney theme park hits theaters, presumably hoping to rake in at least that much at the box office. Its narrative goal, however: to get you to stop caring so much about the vapid capitalistic things that are ruining us all and instead maybe do something to make the world a better place.

No movie has ever been as at odds with itself as Tomorrowland. And therefore no summer blockbuster, reviews aside, has ever been this intriguing—and perhaps even admirable.

The logline for Tomorrowland is deceptively complicated for a film so aggressively blunt with its message. That message, by the way? We have the power to save the world, should we choose to use it.

It’s Al Gore by way of Captain Planet, Disney-approved.

We’re introduced to a wide-eyed teenager named Casey (played by Britt Robertson), the daughter of a NASA engineer, who refuses to accept the end of the Space Race era, and the optimism and spirit it embodied.

The next part is the wee bit of sci-fi wonkiness: Casey is recruited by an ageless adolescent android who gives her a pin that transports her to Tomorrowland—aJetsons-like utopia where the brightest, purest minds in the world were meant to gather to manufacture the brightest future possible.

George Clooney, at one point decades earlier, was also gifted a pin and access to this utopia, where he was once swept away by the romance and promise of a blissful tomorrow.

Decades later, now that Tomorrowland is all but defunct, his character is a crusty old man who passes his days staring at a bank of TV sets playing clips from 24-hour news stations detailing the disastrous state of our present: global warming, famine, wildfire, drought, climate change, endless war, endless disease.

A genius inventor in his own right, Clooney’s character fashioned a countdown clock, ticking away to the moment that these things—most of which are disasters of our making, consequences of our selfish behavior—will cause Armageddon.

Yes, in Tomorrowland, George Clooney is shaming us for causing the end of the world.

Of course, there are twists and turns that deepen this. As it turns out, Clooney’s return from Tomorrowland made him just as cynical and complacent as the society he blames for our impending doom. He’s not as much the film’s hero as he is the one who needs to be saved—before he can help save the world.

I thought the film was too bogged down with overly used CGI effects   (Computer Generated Interface  for those of you who don’t know what that means) that didn’t look real and stories that went in conmvoluted directions until the middle to end. There were a few good parts like when Casey and George and the android girl were being chased by older government men in black type androids, but overall I was disappointed. These actors are great at what they do, but when they start spouting politics to make a point in their films they usually fail. People want to be entertained   and not have to think about what’s going on in the world and being warned.

Early box office intakes report low percentage for Tomorrowland. Disney’s George Clooney theme park adaptation title is coming in at $32.159M for the 3-day and $40.7M for the 4-day. Forget it being slightly less than pre-weekend estimates, For a pic that cost an estimated $180M-$190M, Tomorrowland should be in the $50M neighborhood stateside considering its price.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Theatrical release poster

Mad Max Fury Road is the remake of the original Mad Max starring Mel Gibson in 1979. It is directed by George Miller who directed Mel Gibson in the original. This one stars Tom Hardy as Max and Charlize Theron. Mad Max is an apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world exists two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order.

Max is a loner who is hunted and haunted by people after him and the memories of people he could not save. This is a world where everyone is out for themselves and it is a lawless survival of the fittest. Max is captured by a band of crazies from a city that is ruled by a deformed dictator who tortures and enslaves his people. This dictator wears a scary teeth plate mask on his face attached to a breathing apparatus and breast plates front and back. He has several unwilling wives, one who is pregnant. When the wives led by Charlize Theron help Max escape in a tanker type truck thus begins a wild, dare devil chase across the hot desert sands.

I had mixed reactions to this film. I thought the cinematography was great and stunts were fantastic. Miller used as little CGI effects as possible and the chase scenes were incredible. In a recent interview Miler said he wanted it to be a two hour chase scene. Of particular interest is the cars by the city people chasing Max and the wives that had long bending poles attached to them that the riders use to bend over onto Max’s truck and throw firebombs at him.

What I didn’t like was the fact that max doesn’t do much except look pensive during most of the film while ChalizeTheron in shaved head is very macho and does most of the action. My friend jokingly said they should have called it Mad Maxine. 😀 I also thought the characters were all one dimensional and thin on story line. There is also very little dialogue especially Max who only has a few lines and they are mostly mumbled. The chase scenes, action and stunts and cinematography are overwhelming though which is probably why most critics have given it four and five stars.

Check out this links below for some really great action packed trailers from there. 🙂

Hillary and Obama Lied,Our Ambassador and Two Brave Soldiers Died!!!!

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
A few weeks after 9/11 2001 the N.Y. Post ran a front page headline saying “BUSH KNEW!!” The article inside said the Bush administration knew something was going to happen, but they didn’t know when how or where. Hillary then proceeded to go before the senate and 9/11 commission and held up the paper with the headline for the world to see. What followed was the mass rumors and unfounded accusations without proof by the left of Bush planning 9/11 himself which some still believe to this day.

Well now the tables are turning against Hillary as it has been discovered she and Obama and everyone in that administration knew 10 days in advance that our embassy in Benghazi was going to be attacked:

Judicial Watch has obtained previously classified documents from the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of State revealing that DOD almost immediately reported that the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was planned and carried out by al-Qaida and Muslim Brotherhood-linked terrorists.

A federal court ordered the government hand over more than 100 pages of previously secret documents that showed then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other senior Obama officials were given reports within hours of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack. In those memos, the DOD described details of a plan 10 days in advance “to kill as many Americans as possible.”

They knew all this yet they didn’t send help when the ambassador asked for it days in advance. They didn’t send help during the battle which lasted seven hours and they watched it live on TV and then they had to lie about it afterwards saying it was a spontaneous demonstration caused by  a little known you tube video. Obama had the film maker thrown in jail for a year and he had nothing to do with it. This was treason of the highest order!!!! Obama and Hillary lied and our ambassador died.  Anyone who votes for her has blood on their hands. They all belong all in jail now!!!!!!

She also knew the ambassador was gay yet she sent him to a country where they kill gays. I read what they did to him. These savages castrated him, tortured him and ravaged his body so bad it was unrecognizable.

On top of everything else it is now discovered that we were shipping weapons to Syria thru Benghazi before the attack all under her watch. This shows knowledge of ISIS before the attack:

US Intelligence agencies were fully aware that weapons were moving from the terrorist stronghold in Libya to Syria before the attack that killed four Americans…
September 16, 2012 DIA Memo copied to the National Security Council, CIA, and others concluded the Benghazi terrorist attack was planned at least ten or more days in advance…

The memo also tied the attack to 9-11… No discussion of a demonstration or anti-Mohammad video.

US officials were aware that weapons were being shipped to Syria by the Port of Benghazi

.Thanks Obama!!! Thanks Hillary!!!

Hillary Clinton said she did not know about the program while testifying under oath.
Here is the transcript:

Sen. Rand Paul: My question is, is the US involved in any procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling anyhow transferring weapons to Turkey out of Libya?

Hillary Clinton: To Turkey? I’ll have to take that question for the record. That’s, nobody’s ever raised that with me.

Sen. Rand Paul: It’s been in news reports that ships have been leaving from Libya and that they may have weapons. And what I’d like to know is, that annex that was close by, were they involved with procuring, buying, selling, obtaining weapons and were any of these weapons being transferred to other countries? ANy countries, Turkey included?

Hillary Clinton: Well, Senator you’ll have to direct that question to the agency that ran the annex. And, I will see what information was available.

Sen. Rand Paul: You’re saying you don’t know?

Hillary Clinton: I do not know. I don’t have any information on that.

Rand Paul accused the Obama administration in January 2013 of running guns to Syrian rebels.

Rand Paul was right.

Hillary and Obama lied  and she lied under oath which is punishable by a jail sentence yet she walks free and is running for president. Yes,they lied and our ambassador died.

 Burr :

She is such a piece of trash. Why in the world would anyone support this criminal for president? When we get a woman president isn’t it important to vote someone in who isn’t a crook? Their phony whines about meeting bills when Billy, adventure boy who visits Orgy Island, sometimes gets over a million dollars for a dumb arse speech, aka political payoff. And the American public supports these people? I feel as if I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole, this is so bizarre. What is the matter with us?

Jade Helm 15-Rehersal For Martial Law by Obama?

jade_helm.jpg (500×300)

When Obama first became president he said he wanted an internal army bigger than our regular army for domestic problems and fighting terrorism. This has given rise to speculation of him declaring martial law at one point. Now with Obama ignoring our constitution calling it “an outdated document” and using executive orders at his whim, he is acting more and more like a dictator. Now we have this Jade Helm15 exercise taking place. In a recent article in GOPUSA they stated:  “The three-month exercise begins in July and involves about 1,200 troops – special operations forces from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force as well as members of the 82nd Airborne Division. It’s spread across seven states – Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida – and will be conducted mainly on military installations but also on some remote public and private lands with the approval of landowners.

The diverse locations are meant to replicate the various climates and conditions the special operations forces would face when deployed around the world, and allow them to hone their combat skills.

According to officials, no live ammunition will be used, but there will likely be blank ammunition and other pyrotechnics, such as smoke grenades. The troops will train for a variety of military missions during the day and night, including rescue and recovery attempts, airborne operations and long-range combat movements.

Internet suspicions about Jade Helm spiked on some conservative websites and social media after a map labeled Texas, Utah and parts of California as “hostile” areas for the purposes of the exercise. Military training often includes mock-ups of enemy camps or other facilities so that the U.S. forces can practices infiltration and other missions.”

Why are they labeling those states as “hostile areas”. Could it be that those are the states Obama referred to as people clinging to their guns and religion?”

An Article in World Net Daily had this to say:

Over the past week, the Internet and talk radio have been buzzing about an Executive Order quietly signed by President Obama that allegedly authorizes the Department of Homeland Security to get ready to shut down all domestic communication in case of a declared national emergency. Let me repeat: All domestic communication, which includes “New Generation Systems” – a.k.a. the Internet – within the United States.

Just exactly what qualifies as a “national emergency” is not clearly defined. But something tells me we’ll soon find out.

White House Executive Order 13618, signed July 6, 2012, and titled “Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions,” could be used to prevent communication between U.S. citizens, allege some concerned, thus allowing the president to eliminate any and all opposition to his plans. You decide. The complete EO can be read here.

An article that recently appeared in Zero Hedge (“Guest Post: What Is President Obama So Afraid Of?”) connects the dots:

Taken in conjunction with the NSA’s new Utah spy center (which will collect and archive the complete contents of every email, tweet, Facebook post, Google search, phone call and text message) and the National Defense Authorization Act, it’s clear that the Obama administration is expecting trouble from within.”

Conservative writer Rick Wiles claimed that protests in Ferguson, Missouri, were all part of a plot to enable “Emperor Obama” to “start a civil war,” which would give him a reason to implement stringent gun control so people could no longer “protect themselves from tyrants.” His fellow conservative talk show host Jesse Lee Peterson said that Obama brought “chaos” to Baltimore just so “he can federalize the police departments around the country.” World Net Daily columnist Morgan Brittany claimed that the Baltimore riots were “planned” by the government, which she said is bent on “stirring up unrest” in order to give Obama the justification “to institute martial law to preserve order, form a national police force and postpone the 2016 elections.”  Even Al Sharpton suggested that Obama nationalize the police after riots in Ferguson and Baltimore.-

Recently Obama has purged over 900 officers from all factions of the military and reduced our military to pre- WW11 conditions. Obama said it is because of the new technology we have such as drones that we don’t need as much, but with all the riots going on in black communities and Obama seemingly siding with the rioters and not the police other suspicions have arisen such as him declaring martial law and becoming America’s first dictator. Some conspiratorial folks have even gone as far as saying there won’t be any elections. Obama even has transferred all this military hardware like trucks, heavy duty weapons, etc. over to local police departments. .The Obama regime continuously tramples underfoot the Constitution with the consent of the Congress and Senate who do nothing to countermand it, so why would or should the people believe or trust the government anymore?

When one general was recently asked if Obama planned martial law his reply was, “What do you think the purge was for?” Some officers have claimed that before they were let go they were asked if they would take up arms against civilians. When they said “no” they were let go.

In any event as folk singer Bob Dylan once said, “Because you know something is happening, but you don’t know what it is,do you Mr. Jones?”

Who would oppose Obama 3rd term?

Obama preparing for citizen uprising?

Avengers:Age of Ultron

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is the second installment of the Marvel superheroes known as The  Avengers. For those of you not familiar with the Avengers, they are a group of superheroes consisting of Tony Stark AKA Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr., Black Widow played by Scarlett Johansen, Hawkeye,(The Archer) played by Jeremy Renner and David Banner also The Incredible Hulk played by Mark Ruffalo, Captain America played by Chris Evans and Thor by Chris Hemsworth. They work for an organization called S.H.E.I.L.D

When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jump-starts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron, a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.

Ultron is actually the creation of Tony Stark and David Banner. It is an energy form of Artificial Intelligence that is to be placed in a giant indestructable metal body and used to combat nuclear war and any alien invasions. Unfortunately it acquires a mind of its own and takes that one step further and wants to extinguish all of humanity. This is when the Avengers unite to fight Ultron.

S.H.E.I.L.D has a nemesis known as HYDRA who have  created two super humans who have powers of their own to fight against the Avengers. Quite a battle ensues with these two who are brother and sister twins crashing through buildings and smashing cars and windows all over the city. Eventually when they realize Ultron’s ultimate objective of stamping out civilization they unite with the Avengers.

One thing I like about this series is that they also show the human side of these heroes. Like the very contentious and frustrating relationship between David Banner and Black Widow with his Hulk condition getting in the way and Captain America and Tony Stark arguing a lot .There are a lot of big egos in the way here. There are also funny lines to keep their morale up. When Captain America is telling the rest of the people fighting Ultron and his minions “If they hurt you, hurt them back and if they kill you just walk it off.” Or when Hawkeye is trying to give the Russian girl from HYDRA now on their side some incentive to fight Ultron he says to her, “I just have bow and arrows to fight against these metal monsters. Where’s that at?” They also can get quite serious and philosophical as when Captain America is arguing with Tony Stark he says, “When you try to win a war before it starts everybody loses. Everybody!!!”

There is lots of action and things blowing up,buildings falling all over the place to keep everyone satisfied. Never a dull moment. Spoiler alert! There is a possibility of new avengers added to the team when they are sworn in at the end for the next one as Robert Downey Jr. has said he doesn’t want to do Iron Man anymore.

James Spader is the voice of Ultron and if anyone is a fan of Blacklist you immediately channel his Ray Reddington character from there. Ultron even has his mannerisms with cocking his head slightly to one side and the tone and inflections are the same too.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” is a good film and doing very well, but I still prefer the first one better.
